2 men charged in connection to Alabama robbery

A 25-year-old man and a 20-year-old man were taken into custody after authorities say that they were involved in a robbery on Oct. 30. Police say that the two men held up a restaurant employee making a deposit at Regions Bank on Second Avenue S.W. in Graysville around 3:45 p.m. They allegedly pointed a gun at the man, took the money and fled the scene in a Buick Regal.

Police initially believed that the getaway vehicle was being driven by a woman. However, after they spotted the car on Interstate 22, they discovered that the driver was a man. During the traffic stop, the gun allegedly used in the robbery was discovered, and cash was also discovered in the car.

The two men reportedly refused to answer questions after being taken to the Forestdale substation. Both men were charged with first-degree robbery and were both released after each posted $60,000 bond. There was no information given as to whether anyone was hurt during the incident or when the two men would make an appearance in court.

Weapons charges could lead to an individual spending many years in prison if convicted in court. Assault charges could also lead to severe consequences. A criminal defense attorney might be able help an individual facing criminal charges by arranging a plea deal. In some cases, a plea deal could be negotiated if a defendant has information about a case. In other situations, a defendant might choose to enter into a plea agreement if he or she does not want to risk a conviction at trial.
